Heavy textures, interesting shapes and gracious use of color, makes Mike Schwenke's art stand apart from other artists. Mike's love of nature and art come together to create one of a kind works depicting scenes and landscapes, people and wildlife he finds inspiring locally and along his travels.  He strives to challenge himself with each piece and is often impelled to experiment with different textural techniques that push the boundaries of the medium, resulting in original acrylic works, that are visually pleasing with elements that make the viewer want to reach out and touch the canvas.

Mike has been showing and selling artwork in the area for years.  While working primarily as a building contractor,  Mike's ability to recognize and harness the beauty of textural applications is something he has learned through his construction career, with no formal art background.  His standalone surfaces along with self-taught use of color, subject and composition, have caught the attention of collectors from across the country.  The Brickwalk is proud to have the opportunity to showcase Mike's acrylic paintings and offer the community the experience of enjoying his artwork.
