JESSE JACOBS
Kearney, NE
Jesse is a local ceramics artist and the founder of The Brickwalk Gallery. Working primarily in the technique of saggar firing, his pottery is spontaneous and one of a kind. Pairing the saggar finish with refined forms creates a unique blend traditionally formal vessels with seemingly raw, organic and weathered surface effects.

Jesse graduated from the University of Nebraska Kearney with a BFA in Studio Art (ceramics), then spent time working as a studio artist in Omaha's Old Market. Jesse relocated back to Kearney prior to becoming a full time entrepreneur while continuing to produce select works for small galleries and high-end shops.

While making pottery is a passion, he also enjoys drawing, painting, design work and anything that allows him to create in general. In 2012 Jesse formed Studio J to act as a business base for all of his creative endeavors. Jesse's drive to be a creator goes beyond art and spills over into a desire to form opportunity for others through his full time business ventures and love for seeing ideas and concepts come to fruition.

Jesse formed The Brickwalk Project in mid-2020 after acquiring space in the historic McCue's building while exploring ways to use his creativity to promote Nebraska-local art, artists and Kearney's "On The Bricks" presence. The back room acts as Studio J's work space and office, while the front area brings downtown Kearney an industrial-modern showroom formally known as The Brickwalk Gallery.
